The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals www.aspca.org.
The ASPCA was founded in 1866 as the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then, and they continue to battle cruelty today. Whether it’s saving a pet who has been accidentally poisoned, fighting to pass humane laws, rescuing animals from abuse or sharing resources with shelters across the country, they work toward the day in which no animal will live in pain or fear.
The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is the world’s largest network for animal welfare. It brings together over 850 member societies in 150 countries and a whole community of individuals around the world who care about animal welfare.
WSPA’s animal welfare programmes include a mix of direct fieldwork, campaigning, education and training, and member society development. With so many global issues and limited resources, WSPA has created a framework for the prioritisation of its work.
